We made this batch using
SWEET POTATO and CARROT... adding
RED BELL PEPPER and fresh GARLIC, too!
For the beans, we chose a can of GARBANZO/CHICKPEAS to drain and rinse.
Chopped WALNUTS worked great here!
Instead of using the coffee grinder to turn our flax seeds into meal, we reached for the
CHIA SEEDS and mixed them with WATER.
They did that cool gel thing and
helped to hold our patties together!
We dumped in some APPLE CIDER VINEGAR and COCONUT AMINOS for our
liquid flavoring.
As for dried seasonings, we added GARLIC, ONION, TURMERIC, CURRY,
SALT and PEPPER.
Did we measure? No, we did not.
But we were asked for a recipe,
so here’s our best guess...
INGREDIENTS:
2 CUPS SHREDDED VEGGIES
1 CAN or 1 3/4 CUPS COOKED BEANS
1 CUP OATS
1/2 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
1T CHIA SEEDS or FLAX MEAL
3T WATER TO ACTIVATE SEEDS/MEAL
2T LIQUID FLAVORING
2T DRIED SEASONING
SMASH ALL THIS STUFF UP
TO A CONSISTENCY OF YOUR LIKING.
MAKE PATTIES AND BAKE AT
400 DEGREES FOR 20 MINUTES
OR UNTIL DONE.

Olive asks for fruit and vegetable
“flowers” for most meals.
We offer a dipping sauce
only when she requests it,
which is rare.
GO OLIVE!!!
We avoid all oils equally!
For our hummus, we simply blend
garbanzo beans/chickpeas.
Water is used to thin out the mixture.
Do add garlic!
Do add lemon!
Do add seasonings!
Do add anything you want!!!
What is better than making
nut butter to order???
Try making ONE-INGREDIENT nut butter!!!
Pulverize whatever nuts you want with your blender/food processor/nutribullet/etc.
Add water to smooth it out!
You can make guacamole
with many food combinations...
Our favorite combo is
AVOCADO, TOMATO, GARLIC,
LIME and SALT!!!
